Álvaro Fernández is part of a talented generation of the Spanish film industry making exceptional films all over the world. Born in Sevilla, Álvaro has set up international co-productions in over a dozen countries. Álvaro is currently producing the documentary The Color of Cola, directed by Academy Award nominee Stanley Nelson and Jacqueline Olive, and the docu-series Toño Bicicleta: The Cautionary Tale of Toño Bicicleta, helmed by Michael Mazur.
Álvaro’s past documentary credits include prolific collaborations with filmmaker Matthew Mishory, including Who Are The Marcuses?, about a mysterious couple whose half a billion dollar gift imagines regional conflict resolution in the Middle East and peace through water; Fioretta, a father/son journey journey through Europe and the centuries to reclaim 500 years of family history; and Artur Schnabel: No Place of Exile, for Arte and RBB. Álvaro has also overseen national commercial spots for clients such as Pinterest, Roku, DirecTV, Best Buy, and TCL — including two campaigns with NBA MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.
