About E. Randol Schoenberg
E. Randol Schoenberg is a world-renowned attorney, philanthropist, and genealogist based in Los Angeles. As a lawyer, Randol is the winner of numerous awards in the field of litigation, notably having represented Maria Altmann in “Republic of Austria v. Altmann,” resulting in the successful return of five Gustav Klimt paintings. The case was depicted in the film Woman in Gold, starring Helen Mirren and Ryan Reynolds.
Mr. Schoenberg graduated from Princeton University with a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and a certificate in European Cultural Studies and received his Juris Doctor degree from the University of Southern California. For ten years, Mr. Schoenberg served as President of the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust. A lifelong genealogist, Mr. Schoenberg is a board member of JewishGen, where he directs the Austria-Czech Research Division, and is a volunteer curator for Geni.com. In the feature documentary Fioretta, Randol traces his family roots all the way back to the establishment of the Jewish Ghetto in Venice, Italy.
